CCBL - SUMMER RULES

During the summer, we will modify our rules somewhat to help all star teams prepare for their all star tournaments.

1) For machine pitch, we will take the speed setting on the pitching machines up one notch

– 7U will be set at 9, and 8U will be set at 10. ***Coaches will choose before the game if the umpire will operate the machine.***

2) Batting order and substitution rules will change. Coaches will have 3 options – the coach must declare his option to the umpires and other coach before each game, and cannot change options during that game: -  Continuous Batting Order : bat everyone and have free substitution on defense (what we normally do). -  Bat Only 9 (or 10 if machine pitch), with additional players as substitutes. A started may be replaced by a substitute, and re-enter the game one time (must go back into the same spot in the batting order). If a substitute enters the game and then is removed, he may not re-enter the game. -  May use an EH (Extra Hitter). This player is considered a starter and may go in and out on defense with the other 9 (or10) starters. Other players are substitutes, with the same rules as option 2.

3) Coaches may use all star pitching rules

9U & 10U: max. pitches - 75 per day; if throws 40 pitches in game 1,  can throw 35 pitches in game 2 (can throw 75 in one game)

11U & 12U: max. pitches - 85 per day; if throws  42 pitches in game 1, can throw 43 pitches in game 2 (can throw 85 in one game)

PLEASE NOTE: I STRONGLY RECOMMEND YOU DO NOT OVER USE YOUR PITCHERS PREPARING FOR AN ALL STAR TOURNAMENT. YOU CAN GIVE OTHER PITCHERS EXPERIENCE THAT MAY COME IN HANDY LATER.

Rain Out Policy:
We will make every attempt to play as many games as possible, keeping the safety of our players, coaches, and umpires in mind. If we are forced to cancel an entire tournament, teams will receive a full credit or refund for the Tournament Entry Fee. If we play some games, but are not able to play all scheduled games, teams will receive a credit or refund of $55 per game lost.
